Set Up Persistent Session Storage

Configure encrypted cookie vault — never store raw cookies on disk. Use AES-256 encryption with automatic key rotation.

Set up localStorage persistence — many SaaS apps store auth tokens in localStorage. Your vault must capture and restore this.

Define session TTL and rotation policy — typical recommendation: 24h for low-risk, 4h for financial/email services.

Test session restore after agent restart — simulate a full server reboot and verify agents pick up sessions without re-authenticating.

Cookie Syncing Across Workers

Implement shared cookie store — use Redis or PostgreSQL so all browser workers read from the same session state.

Configure domain-specific cookie isolation — cookies for SaaS A should never leak to SaaS B. Isolate by domain origin.

Test: log into a SaaS app via Worker A → switch to Worker B → verify you're still logged in without re-authentication.

CAPTCHA Solving Integration

Sign up for 2captcha or Capsolver — budget ~$0.002 per CAPTCHA solve. Both support reCAPTCHA v2/v3, hCaptcha, GeeTest.

Integrate API with retry logic — configure 3 retries with 15-second timeout per attempt. Implement circuit breaker after 10 consecutive failures.

Set budget caps — start with $5-50/mo depending on traffic volume. Set hard stop at $100/mo to avoid runaway costs.

Test on target sites — run a batch of 100 navigation tasks against your target sites. Target solve rate: 95%+ on first attempt.

Proxy Rotation Strategy

Choose residential vs. datacenter proxies — residential for anti-bot sites (Ticketmaster, social media), datacenter for general web scraping.

Build a proxy pool — minimum 50 unique IPs for reliable rotation. Services like BrightData, Oxylabs, or Smartproxy can provide this.

Configure automatic failover — if a proxy returns 403/429, automatically rotate to the next IP in the pool within 1 second.

Set geo-targeting rules — some services only show certain content per region. Map target sites to required proxy locations.

Concurrency Tuning

Benchmark max concurrent sessions per VPS spec — 4GB RAM ≈ 5-8 sessions, 8GB ≈ 10-15, 16GB ≈ 25-40. Memory is your bottleneck.

Set queue limits and backpressure — use a job queue with max_in_flight limit. When queue reaches capacity, reject new tasks gracefully.

Implement rate limiting per domain — respect robots.txt and avoid IP bans. Start at 5 requests/second, tune up until you hit 429s.

Test under load — run at target concurrency for 1 hour. Target: <5% error rate with consistent response times.

Session Health Monitoring

Set up health check endpoints — each worker pings a status endpoint every 30s reporting: session active, memory used, tasks completed.

Detect "session expired" state — monitor for redirect to login page, 401 responses, or missing cookie signatures. Trigger re-auth immediately.

Auto-re-login on session drop — store credentials in encrypted vault and automate the re-login flow. Test this with a forced session expiry.

Alert on repeated failures — configure Telegram / email alerts when a worker fails 5+ times in 5 minutes. Don't let a silent failure kill your pipeline.

Error Recovery Pipeline

Define recovery actions per error type — CAPTCHA timeout: retry with new session. 429 rate limit: back off 60s. 5xx: retry with backoff.

Implement retry with exponential backoff — start at 1s, double each attempt, max 5 retries. Add jitter (random ±20%) to avoid thundering herd.

Dead letter queue for unrecoverable tasks — after exhausting retries, move to a DLQ with the full error context for manual review.

Manual intervention protocol — document exactly what a human should do when a task lands in the DLQ: check logs, test site, decide retry or skip.

Security Hardening

Sandbox browser workers — run each worker in its own container/VM with no access to the host filesystem or other workers' sessions.

Isolate sessions per agent/client — if multiple clients share the infra, use separate browser profiles and encrypted session stores per tenant.

Scan for credential leakage in logs — implement automated log scanning that alerts when passwords, tokens, or API keys appear in log output.

Rate limit API endpoints — protect your browser management API from abuse. Max 100 req/min per client key.

Monitoring Dashboard Setup

Active sessions view — real-time list of all browser workers with status (running / idle / blocked-on-CAPTCHA / crashed).

Success rate per task type — track task completion %, grouped by domain. Spot which sites are breaking your automation.

CAPTCHA hit rate and cost tracking — log every CAPTCHA encounter. Track cost per day and solve rate per provider.

Queue depth and processing latency — monitor how many tasks are waiting and how long they take from queue → completion.

Disaster Recovery Planning

Document manual recovery procedures — write down every step to restore from a total session data loss. Don't rely on memory.

Set up backup browser instances — maintain 1 warm standby instance that can take over within 60 seconds.

Test full recovery from session data loss — intentionally wipe the session store and measure time to full recovery. Target: <15 minutes.

SLA: recovery time under 15 minutes — document the SLA and test it monthly under controlled conditions.

Production Readiness Review

Load test with 2× expected traffic — double your projected peak concurrency and run for 30 minutes. Record failure modes and fix them.

Audit logs for sensitive data exposure — grep logs for credit card patterns, email/password combos, API keys. Redact or rotate.

Review all API key usage — check that no hardcoded keys exist. All credentials should come from environment variables or a secrets manager.

Document runbook for common failures — write a one-page runbook covering: session loss, CAPTCHA cost spike, proxy pool exhaustion, worker crash loop.
